The Yamaha YBS-480 sets a new benchmark for intermediate baritone saxophones. Replacing the legendary YBS-52, the YBS-480 combines pro-level acoustic developments with a lighter, highly ergonomic key layout tailored for advancing students, school band programs, and doubling professionals.
Featuring a redesigned bore and neck derived directly from Yamaha’s professional YBS-62II series, the YBS-480 delivers a rich, resonant tone and immediate response across all registers. Weight-saving construction, a shorter bell to stabilize low-register pitch, and an optional floor peg receiver make this instrument exceptionally comfortable to hold and play for musicians of all sizes.
