The Fox Renard Artist 220 bassoon is crafted from carefully selected and cured maple, providing a rich and resonant tone. It features a French bell with an attractive metal ring and includes a body lock. The wing and small bore of the boot are lined to guard against moisture damage, and nickel-silver water tubes are incorporated into the bore to prevent moisture buildup in the toneholes.
Fox’s commitment to quality is evident in the keywork of the 220 model, which boasts a full German key system with silver-plated keys. Each key is meticulously hand-mounted by Fox’s team of experts. The instrument includes rollers for the right little finger F and Ab, the left little finger Eb and Db, as well as for the right thumb Bb and F#, and the high D and E keys.
