67th Annual Birch Bay Band Workshop
Join us this year for the 67th annual Birch Bay Band Workshop! Mark your calendars for through at the Western Washington University Performing Arts Center.
This years BBB Workshop will be jam packed full of the same great music, fellowship, fun and sunsets we all love, and we can’t wait to see you all again.
Pay your registration fee before July 8th and save $25. As always, we have discounted pricing for full time students.
Participants may earn up to 21 O.S.P.I clock hours, dependent upon personal attendance. Clock hours are provided free to members of the Washington Music Educators Association. Non-members are welcome to claim hours at the rate of $2 per clock hour earned. Materials will be distributed onsite at the event.
This Year's Clinicians
We are excited to welcome back Dr. Christopher Bianco and Jeff Chang as the lead conductors for the concert and jazz sessions. We would also like to welcome Paul Bain joining us from WWU as the new assistant band director.
Christopher Bianco is Director of Bands and Music Department Chair at Western Washington University, bringing a diverse background to the podium and in the classroom. Dr. Bianco is a past president of the Northwest Region of CBDNA, has recently completed a term as the higher education curriculum officer for the executive board of WMEA, and also serves on the board of directors as region chair for the National Association of Schools of Music.
Jeff Chang is an active music educator, clinician, and jazz saxophonist in the greater Puget Sound area. He has performed with Yakima Symphony Orchestra, the Northwest Symphony Orchestra and many other ensembles in North America, Europe and Taiwan. Chang has been an instrumental/band director and faculty member at schools throughout Washington State.
Paul Bain is the visiting Assistant Professor of Music and the Interim Director of Bands at WWU. He conducts the Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band and teach courses in conducting.
